FAQ

Q: Are players that do not belong to a clan allowed to enter a tournament?
A: No. Currently, only clans and their members may enter tournaments. Subscribing players may enter special, staff held events, however.

Q: How long does a tournament last?
A: Tournaments will last until there is only one clan remaining :). Some tournaments will be over rather quickly while others may last for months. This also depends on the time alotted for each round. A standard round will last 7 days, beginning on a Monday and ending on the following Sunday. The rules for the specific Tournament being held may override the standard time alotted for a round, making the round longer or shorter as deemed necessary.

Q: Is a clan's fame affected by a tournament match?
A: No. Matches played on the Tournament level of the globe against the clan you are scheduled to play for that round, do not affect fame. To insure that you are playing a Tournament match against the correct clan, the Challenge button for a clan will instead be labled as Tournament if you are issuing the Tournament challenge from the Tournament globe and against the clan you are scheduled to play that round. If your clan challenges and plays a clan that you are not scheduled to play, then it will be a fame match regardless of the level the match is played on.

Q: Both Clan Leaders agreed to launch for the match, but no other clan members entered and the timer has already started, why?
A: The timer begins as soon as both Clan Leaders have clicked the launch button and are dropped into the match. Clan Leaders should not click on the launch button to start the match until all of their members that are going to play have clicked on launch. All members (up to the team limit) that have clicked on launch will be dropped into the match once both Clan Leaders agree to start the match and click on launch.

Q: An enemy Clan member killed his teammate/suicided during our match but we did not get any points for it, what's up with that?
A: With the kill system in CyberStrike 2 a pod must inflict the most damage to another pod (or itself) to receive credit for the kill, and as such there aren't any "accidental" teammate kills/suicides or last shot stealing of the kill to avoid giving a point to the other clan. With this system in place your clan should not receive any points for a teammate kill or suicide comitted by the opposing clan.

Keep in mind that -ANY- deaths, be it a teammate kill or suicide, count towards your deaths to elimination in a Tournament match. Even though the opposing clan didn't receive points for the teammate kill or suicide your clan is still one death closer to elimination which isn't a good thing.

Q: I attempted to challenge a clan that my clan is scheduled to play this round but I didn't get a Tournament button in the clan information window, only a Challenge button. Is that a bug?
A: No. To issue a Tournament Match Challenge you must issue the challenge from the map you have agreed to play on from the Tournament globe. A challenge match played against the clan you are scheduled to play for that round on a globe besides the Tournament globe will only be a challenge match and will not count toward the Tournament.

Q: My clan played a challenge match on the Tournament globe and it adjusted our fame, why?
A: Challenge matches will always be scored by fame, even on the Tournament globe. Tournament matches can only be issued during a Tournament and only on the Tournament globe against the clan you are scheduled to play in that round.

Q: Challenge matches, tournaments, ClanWars? I'm so confused!
A: Challenge matches and the ClanWars are basically the same thing. These are matches that take place when you challenge a clan to a match. There does not need to be a tournament taking place to challenge another clan. These matches allow your clan to build its fame for upcoming tournaments. Its also used to determine which clans are allowed to enter the ClanWars Tournament.

Tournaments are more organized than normal ClanWars challenge matches. A clan must register to enter tournaments and most tournaments have some requirements that clans must meet. In tournaments, you are told who your clan will be playing and by what date the match will have to have been played. These types of tournaments are normally held between ClanWars Tournaments, as a change of pace.

The ClanWars Tournament is an extension of the normal ClanWars. Every 4 months, a number of the highest ranked clans will be allowed to enter the ClanWars Tournament. The ClanWars Tournament is the major CyberStrike tournament and only the best and most famous clans are allowed to enter them.
