Registration
v30OCT01
|
|
Clans
must register before the registration deadline.
Any clan that does not register before the
deadline will not be allowed to enter the
tournament regardless of the circumstances.
Clans that
are registered will have their Clan Policy
automatically locked after the registration
deadline. The Clan Policy will remain locked for
the duration of the tournament or at the end of
the round that the clan was eliminated in. This is
to insure that there will be no
"ringers" joining clans or players
swapping clans to get on the winning clan while
the tournament is underway. You
may not have any more then 1 account entered into
the Tourney, if you have 2 accounts they both
shall be signed up for the same clan or not on a
clan.
There has
been an amendment placed on the players that are
booted from a clan that has been locked in for the
tourney. The clans will be allowed to have one (1)
player per tourney to be placed back in the clan and
that player must have been on that clan when the
clans are locked. The clan leader must contact
Protos via email: cs2-protos@play.net with the
players name and a reason as to why that player was
booted. Clan captains and/or other clan members can
not ask for the player to be placed back on the
clan, just the clan leader. If more than one player
was booted from the clan during the tourney, then
the clan leader needs to notify the Tourney Manager
of the one that's to be placed back into the clan.
Clans may only
enter 1 clan into the Tournament, not 2 or more
SubClans as well, this is to be fair to the other
Clans who may not have as many members as your
Clan does.
There will be NO exceptions to the above rules.
Clan registration is handled using the in-game
registration process. Clan leaders may register
for a tournament by clicking the NEWS button in
the CyberStrike 2 HUB then selecting the
Tournament tab.
No
Clan member limit at this time, See Player
Limit for more details.

Scheduling
v30OCT01
|
|
All
matches must be scheduled no later than Midnight on
Thursday of each week. Not doing this may result in a forfeit. Each round will have a deadline
that must be enforced. Clans will be informed of
their next opponent at the end of each round on
the news banner under the Tournament tab in the CyberStrike 2 HUB. Clans must schedule and play
the match before the round ends. It is the clan
leaders responsibility that matches are scheduled
and played on time. To help facilitate match
scheduling, a special "challenge" topic
area in the message board is available to clan
leaders only. Clan leaders may post challenge and
negotiation messages in the topic to help come to
an agreement with their opposing clan. Tournament
staff members will monitor this message area
closely and use messages posted there to determine
if a clan has been difficult to negotiate with and
if actions should be taken against that clan.
In the event that a game is not played, if the
Tournament staff feels that one clan made multiple
attempts to get the match scheduled while the
other was uncooperative, the clan that made the
attempts gets an automatic win and advances in the
tournament, If the Tournament staff
feels that neither clan was cooperative, both
clans will be given a loss and removed from the
tournament.
The actual challenge must be made in the globe
Tournament level with both clans present in the
arena they wish to play the match in. Challenges
issued outside of the Tournament level WILL NOT
COUNT as a Tournament match.
First week
of the Tournament, the Clan Leader must appoint 1
Member of the Clan to post in the Message Board,
Scheduling Area. Clan Leader must post the appointed
Member in the Message Board, they will be the only 2
that is allowed to post in that Area of the Message
Board.

Match
Time Limit v18FEB99
|
|
Matches
are played until one team is eliminated or until
the match clock reaches 0:00. In the event of a
tie at the end of regulation, the match will
switch to a SUDDEN DEATH mode. The next player to
die will end the game.
All Tournament matches will have a set time limit,
the time limit will vary based on the type of
Tournament that is being played.

Selecting
Clan Colors and an Arena v30OCT01
|
|
All
Tournament matches will be played in the globe
Tournament level (accessible by clicking the level
tab below the globe in the HUB). This is a special
level that is available to clan members only.
Actual Tournament challenges must also be made on
this level, matches played outside of this level
WILL NOT COUNT as Tournament matches.
Matches may be played in any map that is located
in the Tournaments level.
Match colors are not set and should generally be
agreed upon by the clan leaders, either red or
black can be selected.
Clan leaders are advised to come to an agreement
as to what map and what colors will be used BEFORE
the match is to start, make this part of your
negotiation process. The clan that issues the
challenge will play on the black team, the clan
that accepts the challenge will play on the red
team. Once the clan leaders have decided on their
colors the clan that will be playing black must
issue the tournament challenge.
If
the Clans can not decide on the map without arguing
or some sort of agreement. Tournament Staff will
take over and decide the Map for both Clans.

Player
Limit v30OCT01
|
|
Tournaments
will always have a maximum player per team limit.
This maximum is generally the cut-off registration
number as well. Tournaments can and will vary
wildly with player limits depending on the type of
tournament. A clan will not be allowed to
participate if it does not have enough members to
field a full team for the Tournament.
The
same clan member may only play for one clan during
a tournament. A player may not use multiple
accounts within the same or on another clan
participating in the tournament, in order to log
into a match to avoid the 3 death limit rule, or
to gain an advantage over the opposing clan. If
this is abused, tournament staff may disqualify
the player from the rest of the tournament and/or
disqualify the clan, from the match involved or the
tournament altogether.
Currently there are no clan
member limits.

|
Player
Substitutions v03MAR99
|
|
Tournaments
will allow substitutions. If a player leaves, but
is not eliminated, his slot may be taken by
another clan member who has not been in the game.
Those clan members that sub in will assume all
death points that the player who left had at that
time.
|
|
Logging
v03MAR99
|
|
There
will be a 30 second log out delay for players who
attempt to log out of a game while they are away
from base. There is a 5 second delay for logging
out in a base area.
Logging to avoid death will not be
tolerated. Should staff witness a player logging
to avoid death, the player will be removed from
the match.
|
|
Disconnects
v23FEB99
|
|
Players
that disconnect will have 10 minutes to re-enter
the match or their slot may be filled by another
member. Clan
members that are currently not playing may
substitute for a disconnected player. Clan leaders
are encouraged to substitute immediately for a
disconnected player. A player who disconnects 5
times will be
required to sit out for 10 min. if the player
continues to disconnect after he has returned from
his 10 min. then that player may be required to sit
out for the remainder of the match.
|
|
Scoring
Matches v23FEB99
|
|
Matches
will generally be scored using the 3 death point
rule. Each player begins the match with 3 death
points. Anytime the player is killed that player
loses a death point and the enemy team gains a
point to their score. In the event of a teammate
kill or suicide the opposing clan will not get a
point but the death will count towards the
destroyed players deaths to elimination. A player
is eliminated once he loses all 3 death points,
the eliminated player will be ejected from the
match and may only re-enter as an observer.
|
|
Starting
The Match v03MAR99
|
|
To
properly start your match the following must
occur:
-
The
match must be played against your scheduled
opponent on the Tournament level of the globe.
-
A challenge must
be made by one clan leader (or boss) and
accepted by the opposing clan leader (or
boss).
-
The
clan that issues the challenge will always
play on the black team, the clan that accepts
the challenge will play on red. This is
without regard to what team colors the clan
members select on the color selection icon.
-
The clan
members, who are going to be the starting line
up, should click the launch button. When both
clan leader's (or boss's) click the launch
button, the match will start, the timer will
start and all clan members who clicked launch
will be dropped into the match.
-
A
clan leader (or boss) must be present and must
be in the starting line up. The clan leader
(or boss) may leave and be substituted at any
time however, he or she does not have to be
preset at the end of the match.
|
|
Game
Or Server Crashes v03MAR99
|
|
In the
unfortunate event that the game (match) or server
should crash, the match must be replayed and
rescheduled, if needed.
|
|
Bug
Abuse v18FEB99
|
|
Bug
abuse will not be tolerated. Any clan found to be
abusing a bug during a match will forfeit that
match. Bug abuse is a serious offense, and is
grounds for immediate lockout from CyberStrike 2.
The CyberStrike 2 Staff will keep a close eye on
matches in both observer and monitor modes and
watch for abuse of any type.
|
|
Observers
v21APR99
|
|
Players
belonging to a clan may observe any match and are
free to enter or leave at any time. It is
advisable, for clans that are in a match, to have
at least one clan member observing so that in the
event of a disconnect, the player may substitute
for the disconnected player.
Staff will no longer enforce any observer
issues. There is an observer limit of 10, who they
are filled by and if they are filled at all, are
entirely up to the players that have the ability
to observe. Staff will not eject an observer for
any reason or upon any request by any other
player.
|
|
Specific
Tournament Rules v23FEB99
|
|
Each
Tournament may have varying rules. In a case where
a Tournament has rules that differ from these
basic rules, the Tournaments specific rules will
supercede the basic Tournament rules.
|
|
Tournament
Staff Decisions Are Final v17MAR99
|
|
Tournament
Staff will occasionally be required to make tough
decisions about matches and certain situations
that may occur. These decisions are FINAL and are
not open to debate. Staff will of course discuss
the reasons behind the decision.
Tournament staff
will always attempt to keep all tournaments fair
for all clans and clan members involved.
|
|
Tournament
Prizes v17MAR99
|
|
Each
Tournament will offer a prize of some kind. The
prize and its value will be determined by Simutronics
